National Commission for Space Research CNIE- CONAE, Argentina

The National Commission for Space Research (Comision Nacional de Investigaciones Espaciales) CNIE or CONAE (National Space Activities commission) is the national space agency of Argentina. It is responsible for all space related activities of Argentina.

 

The CONAE has signed agreements with NASA National aeronautics and space commission of United states and European space agencies on different research and development projects. The CONAE was established in 1991 and has facilities in Cordoba and Buenos Aires. The co-operation with other space agencies has resulted in the development of Earth observation satellites SAC-A, SAC-B, SAC-C with SAC-D,E,F under development. The CONAE also has ground station in Cordoba and a new ground station is being established in Ushuaia.
