How to Calculate the Density at the Stagnation Point of a Blunt Shaped Body

In this article, we would look into how can we calculate the density at the stagnation point at the nose of the body. For this purpose, we have considered a blunt shaped body.

 

 

For this purpose, we have considered that the Blunt shaped body is placed in the test section of a supersonic wind tunnel.

 

We Require,

The Reservoir Pressure in atm and

The Reservoir Temperature in degree Rankine

Furthermore, we require the Mach no. of the flow in the test section.

 

Performing the calculation, gives us the Exit pressure Pe and the Stagnation Density at the nose of the body given by (row) stag which has units of slug/ft^3.
