How to calculate the Local Shear Stress in Laminar Flow Direction

In order to calculate the local shear stress in the laminar flow direction we consider the flow of air over a small flat surface under standard sea-level conditions and assume laminar flow.

 

 

In order to calculate the local shear stress, we need,

 

The length in the flow direction in meters (m)

The width in meters

The flow velocity in meters/sec

We also need to give the locations between which the local shear stress will be compared from the leading edge measured in the flow direction.

 

Performing the calculation,

The values of Rex (Reynolds Number), Cfx Shear force Coefficient, q Dynamic Pressure and Tw shear force is computed for both the locations in Laminar Flow direction.
