Ratio of Initial Mass to Final Mass Mi/Mf of a Rocket Engine

To calculate the ratio of initial mass to final mass (Mi/Mf) of a Rocket we need,

 

The Specific Impulse of the Rocket in seconds (s).

The Acceleration due to Gravity g in m^2/sec.

The Burnout Velocity of the Rocket in km/sec.

 

Using the formula,

 

Mi/Mf = e^(Vb/go*Isp) the Ratio of Initial mass to final mass of a rocket is computed.
